近頃では誰の為だかわからなくなってしまったあの祭りが、自国で行われることに決定した2013年に感じた、
「おい、僕らはこんな複雑な思いを抱えたまま世界中の友人達を笑顔で迎えることができるのかい？」という正直な感情を歌詞にしたためました。
しかし！なんとその祭りが予定通りには行われないという緊急事態発生！・・・というのは勿論皆さんご存知の通り。

そんなアクシデントまでもが、この楽曲を取り巻くドキュメントとして、未来への記録となるのかもなぁ、なんていう地に足の付かないふわふわとした感情。
ああそうだ、2020年はこんなキモチだったよな、って10年後くらいに振り返ってもらえる楽曲になれば。

That is the ceremony quite often seem to be held not for the proper purpose but for the economic effect, will be hosted by our country in 2020. What I suppose was “Are we stable enough to hold it and welcome our friends from all over the world?” and wrote down the words from my honest feeling. However as you all know, emergency declaration blow it away into the future.

Then, there stands our unsteady feeling of prediction that in near future we look back this carnival of 2020 with nostalgia. And this is Bookends’ first memorial song of co-production by our two songwriter, words by Takahiko Terada and music by Sei Nakafuji.
